Wonderful Purchase

This has been a wonderful purchase. I bought this item as I teach coding to undergraduate communications students and wanted an 'unplugged' means of demonstrating core concepts to them. I was struck by the design effort involved and congratulate the designers for providing such a simple and effective design of different elements. The puzzles are clear and incrementally introduce core concepts. I also purchased the educators guide which I have found to be useful as well. I'm looking forward to implementing this within my coursework next semester. Congratulations on such a fabulous product.

Love it but requires hours of tinkering

I would love to rate this a 5 but it would be unfair for the person purchasing if they're expecting to print and play. The package which includes the 3D print models is a great thing (thank you for making it available team!) but the parts require heavy modification to make them more print friendly but still compatible with the set. The files provided aren't designed to be 3D printed (maybe they were the original designs when getting the injection moulds made?). As a labour of love, I've had to spent hours per part to make them printable with no supports (sometimes this includes turning a single part into 2 pieces that cleanly snap or glue together). In other cases, the hole that joins to the pins to the board is a bit tight so making it bigger is necessary. If you just wanted to print and play and you're not into tinkering, this would be frustrating, especially seeing some parts only require a few copies to be printed so the hours put in for the payoff might not feel worth it. Unfortunately, the community is not very active in the 3d printed area (or at least I haven't found much action via the companies community page) so there's not much help available and the work that others have done isn't shared in a common spot for all to benefit from. I'm a big fan of the set and love that it's been made available to print but don't expect to be playing anytime soon.

Replacement of broken part

I emailed customer service regarding the replacement of a broken part (a small little peg that was used to hold one of the components in place). I felt that the price quoted was high for such a small piece of plastic and the shipping was even more out of this world. I had a 3D printer, so I suggested that perhaps they could send over the STL file for that particular part and I could print it myself for the cost of a few cents of plastic.

To my surprise, the stl files of all the parts for turing tumble was sent over without any charge so that I could 3D print any broken parts in the future. I tried printing out the part and it works as a replacement for the broken part nicely. Problem solved!

Thanks again for the quick response and support!
